Reasons to be cheerful!

  1. My son has passed his driving test at the first attempt. Now the worrying begins... His first solo trip was, somewhat predictably, to Dominos to pick up a celebratory pizza.
  2. Bookings have started to come in for my yoga workshop on 18th May.
  3. Started a new yoga class teaching gentle stretches to the residents in a care home.
  4. My story 'Briefs Encounter' is now available for free download from Ether Books.
  5. A tiny Co-op has opened at the end of our road. Hurray for divi!
  6. My cucumber seeds have sprouted.
How are things in your world?

  1. Yay for your yoga classes! Sounds like you are on your way to bigger things. My son takes his driver ed classes this July - so nervous for him.
We planted some seeds too. Don't know what they are cause my 3 year old dumped them out before we could sort them. We will be surprised. Haha

  2. Ah, stretches! I decided I was too stiff and broke out a very good book on Yoga, which I loved and (shame on me!) forgot. But it is time. I am envious of any one who can garden - and I am sipping some chamomile tea to helpy you feel calm about your son. Mothers are the best! Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. Congrats to your son, you're right though now we worry even more! Daughter's fist trip after passing was to drive to MacDonalds! Pleased your yoga workshop is attracting bookings. Have a lovely weekend.

  5. Ooh first attempt, that's great! It took me three :) Tesco's was my first solo trip, not nearly as exciting as Domino's!

    1. Thanks, Laura. He was so determined - and would have been awful to live with had he failed. :)

  7. I only did one yoga class, around twenty years ago (flip-me I'm old!) A friend and I went along with hopes of a toned torso for summer bikinis tucked into our leotard bags. The room smelt of sweat, the instructor had bad breath and the rest of the class were 60+ (nothing wrong with that I hear you protest) who farted and snorted their way through what ended up being a few stretches not worth a damn followed by a sleep to whale music. I suspect we went to the wrong class, but it kind of put us off. :) That, and the fact I hate 'classes' and exercise in general meant I never did begin my yoga routine after all.

Oh for one of those mindsets which says things like "Oh, I love to run at least a few miles before breakfast!"

Congrats on all you're (and your son's) accomplishments! Hurrah! :D XX

    1. Oh dear, how awful! My classes aren't like that at all! Regulations and standards have changed over 20 years (I hope!). Should you venture to have another go, I'd recommend staying away from classes in gyms and checking out the qualifications - and personal hygiene - of the instructor before you hand over any money. On tip: if the teacher joins in the practice beyond demonstrating and closes his/her eyes during breathing, relaxation and meditation, that is usually a sign that he/she won't be watching the students properly.
