I didn't have time to post my celebrations last week because I was out and about all day celebrating my birthday, albeit a day early. This means I have taken delivery of another stack of books - thanks, everyone!| A selection of my birthday goodies |
It's Bonfire Night tomorrow here in the UK. Strange that an event that started as a way to warn us not to stand against the government - Guy Fawkes was not a hero at the time - has turned into just the opposite. Three cheers for the man who tried to destroy parliament! Funny thing, perspective.
Have a good weekend, folks - and careful with those fireworks!

Bonfire night really is a strange one, when you get to thinking about it! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura. I'm not having fireworks - it's too cold for me tonight!
DeleteHappy Birthday and yippie for new books to read! I have a weird problem with rugs - I trip on them. There have been a lot of bruises and skinned knees at my house. Have a lovely Guy Fawkes day and enjoy the bonfire!
ReplyDeleteOops! Mind how you go, Lexa! Thanks for taking the time to comment.
DeleteHappy belated birthday. Well done on getting a new carpet down - we're just waiting for our hall runners to be delivered so we can have a decorated hall for Christmas.

It's great to have order pretty much restored.
DeleteI love sorting books out, Julia - lovely pile of new ones for you. Hope you had a great birthday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rosemary. Yes, I was spoiled rotten by my 'boys'.
DeleteThat's an interesting share about Guy Fawkes. I've always wondered about "bonfire night". Looks like a mystery or two in your book stack. (I love mysteries.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by - and yes, I love a good murder!
DeleteWent down to the rec last night with our 2 to enjoy another fantastic bonfire & fireworks display put on by the local Lions Club. Always brings back great memories of standing outside the back door when we were little & being allowed sparklers - innocent & happy times.
ReplyDeleteAh yes. Do you remember when Dad set his cap on fire?
