It really is Friday

Having failed to post on time last Friday, here is this week's celebration of something small. I have successfully completed the first section of my British Wheel of Yoga Anatomy & Physiology course. Having seen off the nervous system, I am now moving on to the skeleton.


On other matters, I had a bird in the garden the other day that I didn't recognise. It was about the size of a blackbird, but with a pale tummy, yellow bib, yellow beak and white undersides to its wings. Anybody know what it is?









And finally, I've just listened to last night's Front Row. Sometimes this programme is a bit 'Pretentious, moi?' for my taste, but it was really interesting yesterday. There was an interview with Alexei Sayle (not one of my favourites - he was once at the next table to me in a restaurant in Milton Keynes and was, shall we say, a demanding customer); but also a chat with Vanessa Mae, the violinist. She is taking a year out to try and get into the Thai Olympic skiing squad. How inspiring is that!

  7. Congrats on completing this section of your course. Yoga is one of my favorite things - but with the onset of early arthritis in the knee, I haven't done it in quite a while.

    1. Thanks for stopping by. Don't let the dodgy knee put you off doing some yoga. I teach one lady who does the kneeling things sitting on a chair. :)

  9. Congratulations on completing the first section of your yoga course! It sounds pretty in-depth and interesting. I haven't plucked up the courage to start yoga yet, although I have the wii fit yoga stuff so I really should give it a go. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.

    1. The Wii Fit yoga is quite good. But there's no need to be scared about joining a class: most yogis are very friendly - and if they're not, go somewhere else!

  10. Love!!! yoga. My gym has a power yoga class and a class called Centergy (a fast-paced yoga/pilates combo) that has done wonders for my lower back problems, my balance, and my strength (without relying too much on the heavy weights I was lifting that herniated two of my lower disks.) I can't say enough good stuff about it. How cool that you are so involved with it!

  11. wow well done on completing your first part. It is a dream of mine to qualify as a yoga teacher. Well you know one of them. Funny you should have found a beautiful bird as my family and I found a beautiful duck whilst on a winter wonderland walk. I shall post pictures on my blog. Have a good weekend
